This is a pay-what-you-want download of the final Action and Action EP, recorded by Mark Roberts (of Broker) at Empora Recordings (http://www.emporarecordings.co.uk) in Newhaven in January 2015. It was mastered by Tim Rowkins of Hell Yeah Mastering (http://www.hellyeahmastering.com) in February 2015, and then released 20th March 2015. Artwork is by our dear friend Nicolas Cueille (of Seal of Quality and Alaska Pipeline).
Although this is a 4-track release, it is intended that it be listened to along with a 5th song, 'Swansong', which will be made available later in 2015 exclusively on volume 2 of the Rip This Joint DIY compilation LP, so when that is available, we'd encourage you to pick that up from https://ripthisjointrecords.bandcamp.com.

Track Name: Hand To Torch
Hand to torch, or hand to mouth, it’s inconvenient
The freezing weather, chartered boat and dossier
Excuse me privateer, I am excusing myself
And everything I’ve ever done in the name of someone else

Words travel calmly, silently
Your face, the total certainty

The direct route, the correct arc, the path of least resistance
And we’ve got full traction
I made a promise in a half-forgotten dream
That I would take a better slate to all I see
That I would hear you out, that I would hear the truth out
It’s inconvenient

I’m tired and pissed-off, taking a stand
So clean yourself up, so clean semantics up, but you’re a parasite
Hand over the yardstick, the quartermaster’s getting sick
You broke the key in the lock, it was a crime
Straight to the point, you must relent
And did you know that you were only second choice?
These my words to beat you with

Upon this slippery, punctured sphere
And what more could you want?
Track Name: Embrace
It’s density and sorry state
The wandering of a chaotic embrace
We pinned our lives to the pennant and just gave in
Gave in to deadline

The pressured life
I never wanted that for you

Who knows how you feel?
I think I care, I think I care, I can’t decide
Who knows what you had in mind?
Well I think I care, I cant’t decide

Flailing outstretched limbs to me
Good fortune is still ours today

I don’t know what I ever did you for
I don’t know what I ever did to you

Who cares what you had in mind?
Well I think I care, I cant’t decide
Flailing outstretched limbs to me
Good fortune is still ours today
Track Name: I Struggle To Determine What You Believe In
The homing beacon is faulty
I must be missing a coronet
It’s you and me and the cosmos
I must be missing cosmology
While we were looking after records
And I was mending computers
I tipped my hat to the barman
I sold up all of my futures

You had the smart moves
I had a credit card
Oh yeah, it’s twenty years later
And I’m still paying it off

The airbrick was clogged up
The bathroom needs painting
When I get drugged by the dentist
I’ve got a list for complaining

I was a man
I was once a crowned man
A recipe for data loss
That I can take seriously

You had the smart moves
I had a credit card
Oh yeah, it’s twenty years later
And I’m still paying it off

But you’re too far from the doctor
No, you’re too close to the dentist
Track Name: Proverbial Hawks
Like proverbial hawks on the war fortune
They move and they talk
Whispers. Bargaining

Against my better judgement
Isn’t that how it always begins?
And please take note
I somehow managed not to swear in front of your kids
There’s no conspiracy
It’s just men trying to make the best of a bad job
And so many predecessors

Land grab, explore the flag
And you’ll be glad if you need two seats
And when we say ‘retro’ we mean a fake version of our past
And a confused identity
Your penmanship takes on a stabbing motion

There’s no conspiracy
It’s just men trying to make the best of a bad job
And so many predecessors
